Hey Abigail, it's nice to meet you! 🌸 I'm glad you enjoyed this post. It was a fun one to share! I remember seeing a few teary eyes in the room—including myself. 😉
I loved reading this so much! I especially loved the flower idea and your dress was lovely. We eloped in 2019 with just my husband’s family and have been thinking about a vow renewal this year to celebrate with mine. I will definitely be drawing inspiration from you if we do it!
Hi Katie! I’m so glad you liked this post! If you have a Trader Joe’s nearby, definitely recommend going there to prep for your vow renewal. 💐 I love that you eloped before it became super popular. There can be something very intimate and sacred about a smaller setting!
This was so lovely! And very validating — I actually just wrote about the approach my fiance and I are taking to wedding planning, and much of what you say worked are things we've been planning to do (or not). Thanks for writing.
Oh, that’s so fun! 🤩 I love that more people feel like they can take an approach that works for them. I have a suspicion the pandemic changed a lot of the typical wedding standards and expectations, too. I hope you have the LOVELIEST wedding day!!!
Oh Erika, this post was a joyful delight to read from start to finish! What an absolutely amazing day - well, not just your wedding day but the selection of your engagement ring, your planning of the two events - the flowers, oh the flowers, I adore peonies!
I'd never heard the term 'révérence' - what a gorgeous touch to pay tribute to past treasures in that way. Your dress is so beautiful, and you look so happy.
Thank you so much for telling the story of your wedding. I could certainly have done with your help when I was planning ours! 😊
You're welcome! Thank YOU for reading and brightening my day with your sweet words. They are very much like honey! 🍯 Aren't peonies just magical? I'm so happy they were in season for our June celebration.
I meant to comment on your post earlier and say you introduced me to the word "pip" this morning. Look at us, learning new vocabulary. 😉
What a delight it was to be a part of your celebration! I LOVED reading about the intentionality of every small and big decision. You are this way with people too so I'm not surprised at all that it bleeds into everything meaningful to you. I am so in awe of people who can plan events and travel (within budget) because that is NOT my strong suit. I wish it was, but thankfully, I married someone who does enjoy it. 🤩

Your mum's art is stunning. 🤩

I remember processing with you the decision of marrying quickly. That was so helpful and reassuring!
I’ll never forget the toast you gave and the freaking gorgeous charcuterie board you two created. Your presence made that room even brighter. ☀️
